Getting started as a sex worker
Work phone
For privacy a new phone is a must-have. SIM only deals can be as cheap as £5 a month and will keep your personal and private life separate.
Consider location
You can work from your home, another apartment, a hotel or even an Airbnb. Hotels or Airbnbs are great place to start if you are not working full-time.
You will need a shower , a bed and ideally a way to see who is knocking on your door
Being a sex worker is legal in the UK but some neighbours may be upset if there is a lot of noise or people.
Amenities
A shower, plenty of towels and shower gel will help before the session even begins. Deodorant is also a good bonus.
Mood lighting such as candles or low lights give a romantic atmosphere. Keep a clock ⏰ or watch ⌚ so you don’t overrun.
Bottled water or a drink readily available makes for a good host.
Plenty of wet wipes, a bin, condoms (in different sizes!), lube and some sex toys if you have them. Clients may bring their own condoms but it should not be expected.
Advertising
In order to get clients you must advertise online. In person may be considered as soliciting and this is illegal in the UK
The most popular UK website is AdultWork and for help setting up a profile see our other guide.
To advertise on ♥Entyce send us a message via our Contact page and we will get you set up!
You could also join an agency (see guide) but self advertising will bring more clients.
Prices
Your price is completely up to you!
Set it as the amount the work is worth to you. Would you do it for £100 an hour? If not, £150? £200? Starting lower will help you build up your clients and experience before increasing prices in the future.
Take your free time into account. If you only want to see 1 or 2 clients in a week, it may be better to start higher.
If you are not getting any business, think about better photos, better social media, more engagement etc or lower prices and contact us if you need some more help!
Some sex workers can charge £500+ per hour. They usually have a lot of experience or a level of fame e.g. a model, dancer , or porn star.
Taking bookings
A potential client may either call, text or email you. Advance bookings are rare and most will be same-day.
You must use your own judgement and safety checks. Many will be ‘timewasters’ which are people that have no intention of booking and will spam call or text many sex workers.
A message saying “Hi my name is ___ and I would like to see you on ___ for __ hours” is usually a serious client.
If it starts with “Hey bb how r u” then this is an obvious timewaster.
Once you have accepted tell them your postcode but only give out the full address on the day when they let you know they are coming.
During the meet
We would recommend having a friend with you for your first ever booking. They can wait in your living room or just be close outside nearby. You could arrange a system to let them know if you have any issues.
Dress well for their arrival (something sexy!) and offer some water and shower. Ask for the payment, check it and put it aside in another room.
Transfers can be ok if you are 100% sure the money is in your bank. Some scammers may pretend it is ‘pending’ when it is not.
When you are both ready it’s up to you what happens next. Some clients may enjoy talking first, some may be nervous, some may want a massage to warm up or some may want to start the action straight away! if you are nervous feel free to let the client take the lead. It may be helpful to ask what they would like and always say if there’s anything you do not like.
Keep a clock in your room so that you don’t overrun.
Your services
Only offer to do things that you are comfortable with. What would you do in your normal life with a hookup? Kissing/no kissing? Oral, no oral? List them out clearly on your profile.
The most common categories are “GFE” and “PSE”. GFE is girlfriend experience which is usually kissing, oral, and penetrative sex. PSE is pornstar experience and would be more hardcore; deep french kissing, face fucking, gagging, hard fucking etc. Start with girlfriend experience if unsure.
Quite a few services can be offered for extra money. For example anal, complex roleplay or fetish-play, filming, BDSM etc. It is up to you!
We recommend allowing 1 round in 30 mins and 2 rounds in 1 hour. More than that is your decision.
Length of bookings
30 minutes can feel rushed as it is just enough time for a little foreplay, chatting and one round of sex. 1 hour will be more relaxed. You can chat more, have time to shower, foreplay and up to 2 rounds of sex.
For over an hour we suggest more talking with a drink/snack ☕🥐 and foreplay can be slower and more drawn out with a message. During even longer bookings you could play games and get food together.
If you are unsure ask the client what they would like to do during the time.
Overnight bookings may come when you are well established and have regular clients. Consider whether you feel comfortable sleeping close to your client or if you wish to request a separate room. They should understand and respect your boundaries.
STIs and protection
Almost all sex workers will use protection to address the risk of STIs. There is still a chance to get a STI via unprotected oral, but chances are lower than unprotective penetrative sex.
There will always be a small risk of STIs so we recommend getting tested every few months if possible.
There are some sex workers that choose not to use protection and reflect that in their price. That is only something you can decide.
If a client ever tries to persuade you to go without protection, say no. This is not their first time asking a sex worker this question.
Hiding your identity 🎭
You absolutely don’t need to share your identity or face if you don’t want to. Many successful escorts never show their face. Clients are understand the need for privacy and separation from your personal life. Simply blur or crop out any identifying features where necessary.
Be aware if you do choose to show your full face that this could affect your future job prospects and even travel opportunities – we’ve had stories where workers have been denied visas due to their photos online being associated with sex work!
We recommend not hiding large tattoos as clients usually prefer to be aware of these before meeting.
Male sex worker
Please be aware that you need to be bi-sexual, flexible or gay to be a successful male escort. There are surely some straight escorts that exist but these are few and far between and usually successful because they are well known in other areas e.g. porn or minor fame.
Incalls and outcalls 🏠 🚖
“Incalls” refer to client meetings at your own location. This will be 90% of your bookings.
“Outcalls” refer to client meetings at their own location. We recommend always getting the client to pay for your taxi to the location as this shows that they are serious. Take some lingerie, lube, condoms, wipes and anything else you may need.
We also usually recommend setting a travel time limit and enforce a minimum booking time. Outcalls are usually an extra £50 due to the extra time travelling.
Deposits?
Your deposit policy is up to you, but be aware that as a new sex worker they will be very hard to receive due to clients often being scammed.
As a more experienced sex worker with many social media sites and positive reviews, this will usually not be a problem.
We advise considering deposits when you are taking large bookings (e.g 2hrs +) or bookings which are far in the future (more than a few days).
Photos and photoshoots
Your photos are key. These are the first impression you will make on any potential client. Amateur photos are great but ensure that you use good lighting, wear nice lingerie or sexy clothes and a full body pose.
Key things to note; if taking a picture with your face, smile😊! Go for full body pictures, so not just you ass, face or chest. This gives clients a full sense of the whole package.
You will see many sex workers which have had professional photoshoots. We can recommend a few trusted photographers if you need them but we recommend waiting until you are ready to invest significant money in your photos as this usually costs several hundred pounds.
Regulars
Usually clients prefer not to be messaged in between sessions as many are attached. Therefore wait for permission to message or until they initiate to be sure.
Social Media
Social media in the 21st is very important whether you love it or hate it. These days it is used to further verify and provide additional engagement to your clients or followers. More social media also means more advertising so we recommend setting up profiles where possible. However be cautious of the strict anti sex worker policies most of them have!
Instagram: Widely popular for the amount of photos, videos, stories you can create. However Instagram bans ‘nudity’ (often unclear what will get flagged and what will not) and sex worker accounts.
Twitter: More sex worker friendly, but has a less well-known ban for anyone who uses nudity in their banner profile picture.
Reddit: Post away! but make sure it in in the correct subreddits only, or risk getting banned.
Your sex worker name
Your sex worker name will be your brand going forwards. Think about it carefully but also don’t worry too much! it can be fun, simply, flirty – whatever you like. Just be sure that it is not the same as your real name to allow yourself privacy and separation away from your work persona.
